Derek Sharp is a 26-year-old filmmaker based in Toronto. He has directed two internationally successful short films and a PSA for the Toronto Arquives. He is interested in cultural and social constructions of identity, the aesthetic and narrative limits of genre, and the place, role, and emotionality of men in a changing world.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology & English Cum Laude from Mount Allision University, and an Advanced Diploma in Film and Television Production from Humber College.

He currently works as Development Coordinator at Edge Entertainment, a northern Ontario based production company. He has written coverage for dozens of feature scripts and works as an independent story consultant. He is in the post production stage on his horror short HIM, third draft for his feature horror script Those Dreamt Ones, and early development on multiple projects, including his next horror short The Knights of Saint Henry and feature Because The Night.
